Designing for COVID19
The past year has proved to be a challenging one on many fronts, the most pressing being the COVID19 outbreak. The outbreak has disrupted many societal norms and has changed how people interact with one another and go about their daily lives.
As with any big change, adjusting and adapting to this new normal can be slow and met with resistance from the public. As a designer, this presents a unique challenge as to how to remind people of best practices in a way that is informative, visually interesting, and accessible.
Public Space
As one of Brooklyn's newest parks, Domino Park always brings a large crowd to its grounds. Normally a positive thing, during a pandemic this presents a challenge in ensuring people can still enjoy the park while keeping safe.
I have worked closely with the park to design appropriate signage, announcements, and communications for the public to ensure everyone stays safe.
Part of a series of Instagram stories to remind park goers of best practices when visiting.
I've also worked with Jane's Carousel at Brooklyn Bridge Park to design custom signage & markers to help riders stay safe.
Interior Space
A series of vinyl & painted wall graphics to encourage people to use the stairs instead of cramming into an elevator.
With new safety guidelines comes a need for many signs, all of which have an easy to understand & consistent graphic language.
In order to maintain branding standards within certain buildings, I've created custom illustrations and layouts based on existing CDC guidelines.
